MM52-Article, 'Someones watching you.'
This article is about online surveillance and how the government along side companies can access personal information from peoples online accounts. The article talks about the threats of how governments and companies can access your personal information in order to make a profit. The article features a story about a school in America using webcams to spy on students and goes into further detail about other ways people are spied on, online. Additionally, the article talks about Edward Snowdon and how he leaked private information about how the British and American governments spying operations on millions of yahoo users. Furthermore, not only does the article talk about how companies and governments can access personal information, but it goes into further detail about technology developing which would lead to much serious cases of peoples private and important information being accessed.
In my opinion, I disagree with the idea of people such as large companies and the government being able to access my private information. Furthermore, as I use quite a lot of social apps I don't think it's worth having them if my personal information is being accessed by governments. I think people should be allowed to have the choice of whether or not they want their information to be shared. Additionally, I think it's unfair that most people don't get a say in this and most times are completely unaware of what is actually going on.

Periscope does also come with concerns which one of them being privacy. with you tube you can take down or edit videos or comments, unlike periscope where users are free to express the dislikes or opinions which can further lead to dis harm to the owner of the account which could lead to cyber bullying as users are given an unlimited liability where they are free to say whatever they want.
The essay gave us examples of what Spotify is used for and how it aims at encouraging users in informing and educating others about their service. It also mentioned the type of audiences that may use the service. There was also a use of theory which linked well with the essay as it didn't clash with the essay overall. The essay also compared aspects of Spotify advantages and disadvantages and compared Spotify to other music streaming apps.
Well for me digital media has changed my life in
both positive and negative ways. One way digital media has impacted my
life in a positive way is it has made me more aware to social issues as well as
using digital media for surveillance. More so it has made me more social as
mostly a lot of people in our generation have grown into the usage of digital
media. More so it has helped me express my interests and gain information on
how I can progress my talents on a further scale. on the other hand I feel
digital media has impacted me in negative ways as it has made me more
distracted from reading forms of print i.e. newspapers, books and even though I
still read books and articles in the newspaper it has been further limited as I
spent more time on digital media.
